Westcon signs global deal with Palo Alto

Multinational distributor Westcon Group has globally unified its relationship with enterprise security vendor Palo Alto.

The two companies already have long-term relationships regionally, but with today's announcement "teams and processes [will] align at a global level". A spokesperson for Palo Alto confirmed to CRN that Westcon already distributes its products in Australia.

The partnership will soon be able to "do business in more than 40 countries", according to the statement from Palo Alto.

Westcon's chief executive Dolph Westerbos said: "Unifying our relationship globally just makes sense. This provides our reseller and service provider partners with a broader and more consistent security portfolio around the world, and leverages Westcon’s technical and market expertise to drive new revenue."

Mark Laughlin, CEO and chairman of Palo Alto, said that the vendor is now glad to have "a major worldwide distribution partner committed to shared success in a global market".

"For years, Westcon Group has been a valuable ally to Palo Alto Networks," said McLaughlin.

Westcon sits under the umbrella of South African monolith Datalec, which also owns reseller Logicalis. The Australian branch of Westcon is currently starting a new leadership era with Dave Rosenberg entering the ANZ managing director position this month.
