Ingram Micro has promoted Jenny Southon to the role of general manager for its Data Capture/Point of Sale (DC/POS) arm.
Southon joined Ingram Micro in 1998 and has held the posts of business manager for Toshiba, IBM and HP.
Southon told CRN that she was very excited about starting the "challenge".
"I've been spending my time getting up to speed and I'm starting to see resellers," she said.
Southon said she's been looking at market opportunities as well.
Grant Cleary, marketing manager at Ingram, said Southon knew the industry very well.
Southon replaced Matt Maley to head up the team of 40.
Maley was the managing director and co-founder of Vantex Australia, the New Zealand point of sales distributor which Ingram acquired last year.
The DC/POS group at Ingram distributes 23 vendors including NCR, HP, Motorola.
Southon will start her role on April 6.
