IT services provider Empired has secured an infrastructure outsourcing services contract with the Victorian State Government’s Department for Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD).
Empired will provide infrastructure outsourcing services to manage level 2 and 3 support and maintenance of DEECD’s Microsoft server platforms including messaging systems, database systems, internet, intranet and file and print systems.
Empired will also provide systems integration and enhancement services to the Department’s internal systems and infrastructure.
The contract, valued at up to $3 million over a three year term, is structured as an initial one year period with two additional one-year options for the Department.
Empired managing director Russell Baskerville said the contract was a significant win for Empired.
“We are delighted to be awarded this contract by DEECD, one of the largest Victorian Government departments in the state,” Baskerville said. “On the back of this win Empired will significantly increase staffing levels in Victoria and actively pursue a number of other Victorian State Government IT outsourcing contracts."
The contract with the Victorian Government came eight months after the commencement of support for Australian gold producer and mineral explorer St Barbara.
