The company is the sole distributor for Intrepidus in Australia. It will deliver its solution to customers across the region and train their employees on how to stop spear phishing and whaling attacks.
A recent survey by Intrepidus found 23 percent of people worldwide are vulnerable to targeted spear phishing attacks and the global economic downturn has spurred a rise in cyber attacks.
"With cyber crime on the rise, it is imperative that businesses make employees aware of the human vulnerabilities exploited by cyber criminals, via targeted phishing attacks, to compromise corporate networks and steal sensitive information," said Dominic Whitehand, managing director, WhiteGold Solutions.
"We are pleased to partner with Intrepidus to deliver PhishMe to organisations to educate their employees on how to identify and thwart such attacks before they are victimised."
Whitehand said the deal will benefit the channel with a new offering in the local market and strategic resellers looking to extend the value of their security product portfolios.
He said there will be attractive margins for resellers and trial accounts for resellers to test the technology as well as Intrepidus/WhiteGold webinars.
"Our resellers now have an extremely effective SaaS Security offering to take to their customers in order to provide a means of educating and training their users on the dangers of Phishing/Spear-Phishing attacks and Whaling attacks," said Whitehand.
"They have a tool to position services with ie they could produce "dummy" Phishing Attacks for their customers and analyse the results and provide reports on the results.
"It also means they could use the PhishMe solution as a great method of highlighting to customers why they need other security solutions such as authentication solutions," he added.
Rohyt Belani, CEO of Intrepidus Group said the strategic partnership with WhiteGold will provide organisations in Australia and New Zealand a proven mechanism of delivering anti-phishing education to their workforce.
PhishMe provides training for employees that are most susceptible to email-based cyber threats that penetrate anti-spam or phishing filters.
The software creates a firewall against the attack with PhishMe built-in templates and WYSIWYG (What-you-see-is-what-you-get) functionality.
