Watch Intel and Microsoft's cheeky new PC ads

Intel and Microsoft are among five giants of the PC industry behind a new video advertisement campaign for the PC.

Seven years after the “I’m a PC” campaign was released, the two vendors have joined Lenovo, Toshiba and HP on a new campaign for the “next generation” of PCs.

The new campaign, titled “PC does what?”, is officially scheduled to launch 19 October US-time, but videos have already appeared online.

The ads shoot for tongue-in-cheek humour - the running theme being different people saying “PC does what?” in surprise at the features of various laptops.

In one video (see below) a rescue helicopter crew listens to Kenny Loggins’ song Danger Zone, and a ground crew member yells in surprise at seeing a laptop flipped open into tablet mode.

In another video, a woman reclining beside a pool reacts at seeing the image on her laptop’s InfinityEdge display blend into the background.

Other videos show a coach rotating an HP laptop’s keyboard and screen to enter tablet mode, a hotel employee sliding a Lenovo laptop instead of a newspaper under a door, and a game character reacting to HD graphics.
