The distributor will align its support and sales teams with Tandberg Data’s channel activities, including education and promotional activities and product knowledge and applications.
According to Lim Cheng Chuan, country manager A/NZ at Tandberg Data, Multimedia Technology is ‘ideally positioned to drive data storage sales’ and is a long-established and well-funded company with a reputation for expertise and customer service.
Tandberg Data’s product range covers single drives to medium-sized tape libraries and disk-based products.
“We were looking at offering solution sales supported by a number of our vendors, including Fujitsu servers and Cisco/Linksys networking solutions, that underpin the business continuity/disaster recovery environment,” said Philip Jackson marketing manager Multimedia Technology.
“Tandberg Data’s technology is an excellent fit for our channel partners. We have people with the skill sets to support and market the technology and the knowledge base on how to present it to the marketplace,” he added.
Over the coming months channel partners will be invited to attend education functions in which a range of end user activities will be outlined.
Multimedia Technology pro-actively markets to over 5,000 channel partners, and has sales teams that support corporate, government, SMB/SME, education, consultants and system builders.
Jackson believes the demand for storage will not be affected much by the current economic situation.
“While some organisations will extend their usual upgrade cycle, there is always a steady demand for data management and business continuity solutions. As budgets tighten, IT managers will be under pressure to ensure that their backup strategies and business continuity plans are up-to-date and effective,” he said.
