Service NSW has released a tender for a customer identification scanning software solution aimed at streamlining the verification process for government services.
The tender seeks software that will provide customers with "an intuitive and flexible way" to submit identification documents including driver's licences, Medicare cards, passports and other forms of ID.
Accessibility standard AS EN 301 54 must be adhered to, along with Web Contant Accessibility Guidance (WCAG) 2.1 level AA compliance.
Scan volumes are estimated to be no more than 1,250,000 a year, with a total of 5.8 million over a five year period.
Customers should be able to upload a soft copy of ID documents as well.
The accuracy rate for scans must be above 95 per cent.
Service NSW states the primary goal is to save customers time by eliminating manual data entry, resulting in an improved experience when accessing government services.
The scope of the project encompasses three core objectives: providing identification document scanning software, delivering demonstration and training on the software's use (including a non-production testing environment), and ongoing support and maintenance throughout the service period.
The successful supplier must be a member of the NSW Government's ICT Services Scheme (SCM0020), which is a mandatory requirement for this procurement category.
The tender will remain open until 4 April, with an estimated decision date of 30 November 2025.
Go-live for the solution is set for July 1, with training of Service NSW staff starting a month before.
