The deal will see UNIFY become the first SAP partner in Australia specialising in identity management (IM). UNIFY highlighted the importance of IM solutions in the context of heterogeneous IT environments.
“Today's competitive and global business environment demands that organisations open up their enterprises to make important resources available to more people than ever before,” said Mark Goodall, managing director, UNIFY Solutions.
According to Goodall, the fact that businesses work with multiple devices, applications and systems across company boundaries increases the cost, risk and complexity of a network.
“As a result, compliance continues to be a primary business driver in the identity and access management market,” he said. “Customers are increasingly demanding seamless integration between their GRC (governance, risk and compliance) and identity management solutions as they contend with growing security threats and increasing regulatory oversight.”
Patrick Elliott, general manager Specialist Solutions Sales for SAP claimed that there needs to be greater collaboration and connectivity within and outside the enterprise without compromising data integrity.
“In an environment of heightened corporate governance, CIOs need the strategy and the tools to ensure the demands for increased collaboration can be matched by adequate compliance and security,” he said. “SAP’s GRC solution set provides a way to ensure compliance in an increasingly distributed and highly regulated environment.”
Elliot added that the agreement with UNIFY would enable partners to better extend SAP’s GRC offering through the identity management firm’s network of suppliers, partners and customers.
