Tenable Network Security has appointed its first country manager for Australia and New Zealand, as the network security vendor deepens its presence in the region and grows its Asia-Pacific footprint.

Gordon Gakovic bring more than 25 years of IT experience to Tenable and will be based in Sydney. Gakovic will be responsible for expanding the company’s enterprise security presence and supporting channel partner initiatives.

He was most recently the ANZ managing director of Software AG where he headed up sales and marketing. He has also served in leadership positions with Oracle and IBM.

“Organisations in Australia and New Zealand are using technology to give them a competitive edge in today’s market, but the rapid adoption of these new digital trends exposes them to threats and vulnerabilities,” said Gakovic.

“In order to provide customers with the right security technology to address these risks, vendors and resellers must collaborate with one another to right-size the necessary products and solutions. I’m excited to work closely with Tenable partners to deliver comprehensive cybersecurity technology to our shared customers.”

Tenable Asia-Pacific vice president Gary Jackson said Gakovic’s proven experience leading sales teams was just what the company needed in order to grow.

“This, coupled with his experience serving the regional market, will be instrumental as Tenable continues to invest in and expand throughout Asia Pacific. With Gordon now onboard, we’re well-positioned to accelerate our momentum and bring innovative security technology to customers throughout the region,” he said.
