Local software developer and Microsoft Gold-Certified partner, ComOps has been selected by Golden Circle to provide a range of PDA’s to the Golden Circle mobile field team.
The Golden Circle one of the most recognised Australian-owned companies, it manufactures around 500 products including shelf stable fruit and vegetables, fruit juices, cordials, soft drinks and jams.
With a field team of around 200, including territory managers and franchise owners on the road each day, Golden Circle needed to replace their existing time consuming paper based processes as well as update an older PDA based solution.
Richard Bradley managing director at ComOps told CRN, Golden Circle approached the reseller following recommendations from an existing customer.
“Golden Circle selected ComOps Pocket Sales Account Management (SAM) as its mobile sales force automation solution and will deploy it on handheld wireless PDA devices across Australia,” he said. “ComOps Pocket SAM is written in C#.NET development language on the Microsoft Windows Mobile Platform and uses SQL Server Mobile as its database”
With ComOps Pocket SAM, the Golden Circle field team will be able to undertake all their activities, including taking orders, ranging and promotions while on-the-road, then transmit the information from the field back to head office enabling Management to perform rapid information analysis and make quicker strategic decisions.
ComOps Pocket SAM will enable Golden Circle to significantly reduce the paperwork in the field, which will see vast improvements in efficiencies as well as improved communication between the sales force, the franchise owners, and Management.
Bradley expects its team to roll out the solution in the second half of this year
“We expect the integration will be reasonably straightforward as we have a set of standard integration layouts that we will work with Golden Circle to ensure they map effectively from their internal sub systems and external data sources to ours,” he said.
