Click Frenzy returns

Last year's inaugural Click Frenzy one-day, multi-retailer online sale didn't exactly run smoothly, falling victim to its own success.

Despite failing to cope with the initial load, at least one participant - Myer CEO Bernie Brookes - called Click Frenzy a "runaway success".

Click Frenzy 2013 starts at 7pm next Tuesday November 19, and co-founder Grant Arnott says "Customers can feel comforted knowing the site’s technicalities have been improved since the infamous crash in 2012. Pre-subscribers also have an opportunity to avoid the cyberspace stampede with the early bird access."

So if you're looking to save money on items for your business or for use as corporate gifts for favoured customers or suppliers, Click Frenzy might be a good opportunity. But our advice to shop around to make sure you know a real bargain when you see one still stands.

Over 300 retailers offering over 500 brands are participating in Click Frenzy. Well-known names include Adidas, Big W, Bonds, Bookworld, Chemist Warehouse, Dan Murphy’s, House, Myer, Peter Alexander, The Good Guys, Toys R Us, and Woolworths.

Even if your own online store is not part of Click Frenzy, it may be sensible to ensure it is prepared for above-average traffic: last year's experience was that while participants saw a total sales uplift of 250% the event spilled over to provide a general boost to Australian etailers.
