IT services firm ASG has inked a three-year, $23 million contract to supply IT services to the Western Australian Education department.
The services include Oracle applications management, database administration and server operations for "all critical corporate applications including HR, payroll and finance".
The three-year contract may be extended for up to two years, said ASG, which already provides services to the department.
And the services firm stands to gain an even bigger slice of business should the department exercise its discretion under the contract and makes ASG its key corporate and enterprise applications partner.
That would pave the way for ASG to offer more managed and project services, applications support and database administration of "selected Oracle stack applications", it said, including the Oracle student learning application [PDF] installed at 300 state schools.
"We have enjoyed a close working relationship with ASG for many years and during this time ASG has provided essential services and built a strong understanding of the department's mission-critical Oracle applications environment," said the department's chief information officer Bevan Doyle.
