The deal represents the final stage in the Australian-based vendor’s plan to establish a presence in the three key global markets. Having already signed partners in Europe and the United States, APAC was the next logical move.
“As Antivia’s home market, Australia is particularly important to us” said Mark Sands, CEO and cofounder, Antivia.
Launched in October, Antivia’s flagship products – Antivia Desktop and Scenario for BusinessObjects – are to be distributed throughout Australia by e.bi. According to Sands, experience in business intelligence and a broad partner base were important factors in choosing a local representative.
“We don’t anticipate growing the number of partners significantly … it is therefore critical that our solutions are represented by the right kind of partner,” said Sands. “e.bi is a fast growing and well respected company that understands what it takes to deliver successful business intelligence solutions.”
Antivia’s product focus is to create a community-based collaborative environment for business. For this reason, the recent Web 2.0 phenomenon has been credited as the vendor’s inspiration.
“Web 2.0 demonstrates how powerful an environment can be when driven by users,” stated Sands. “I think there’s huge potential in collaboration, it’s been talked about for a long time, but no one's delivered a robust offering. We are looking to unlock this strength, specifically in the business environment.”
e.bi is currently Antivia’s only partner in Australia, however the vendor claimed they are looking to recruit a selection of resellers from the region in the near future.
