3Com to recruit staff as it opens two new branches

The company, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, has announced a new solution set called 3NGiN (3Com Next Generation intelligent Network).

According to Grant Howe country manager A/NZ 3Com, (pictured), the company has had a number of wins in the last six months, including deals with Telecom of Thailand (TOT) and the Department of Education and Training in Queensland.

He said 3Com has taken on four new people in its Brisbane office, three in NSW and is currently looking for sales staff for its Victoria office.

It also wants to open a branch in Western Australia and Adelaide and will recruit locally including looking for new market opportunities.

"We still want to work through our system integrator channel partners but we also want to be more focused on customer requirements. We want to hire new people to work with the end user," said Howe.

Speaking about 3NGiN, Andrew Hindmarch, regional product marketing manager, 3Com APAC said the company wants to take a new approach to helping businesses manage their infrastructure, finances, operations, strategic elements and CSR policy.

"Customers are concerned about their business budgets. We are product focused but we want to push out a new product to market with these solutions," he said.

There are six new solutions called XVN; Expandable Virtual Network; MSC; Multi-layer Security Control; ASM; Adaptive Secure Mobility.

MSP; Multi-media Services Platform; UCC; Unified Communications Collaboration; and ICM; Infrastructure Control & Management Solution.

Hindmarch said the company wants to develop its features and functionality so that customers can get more value out of its network. The solution set is available in Australia now.
