Adelaide-based Nuago is reaping the benefits of a freshly upbeat economic environment in South Australia, with the state forecasting resurgent growth.
The system integrator racked up a diverse range of projects in the past financial year, with government, education and healthcare clients ushering in big gains for the two-year-old company.
In addition to growing its revenues 109.2 percent to $7.81 million, Nuago also doubled its headcount from 11 to 22, as well as expanding its physical footprint with a second tenancy. The company also bolstered its offerings to include advisory, consulting and a security operations centre.
Founded in 2016 by a couple of ex-Datacom employees, Nuago aimed to fill a gap in the South Australian midmarket as a born-in-the-cloud technology provider.
Nuago follows the philosophy of ‘start with why’ made popular by New York Times bestselling author Simon Sinek, where a business can truly add value by understanding the underlying motivations of not only its customers, but also itself.
Director of sales Connor O’Rourke told CRN that Nuago’s success was credited to placing the customer at the forefront and caring about what they do as a business from a strategic perspective, instead of having the technology be the main focus.
“Customer service is the most important thing for Nuago. Clients need assistance in being able to navigate what is what and provide strategic advice on the ways the customers can enable their organisations.”
The company names HP, Microsoft, Palo Alto, Lenovo and Nutanix among its key vendor partners, which have provided the technology behind a number of strong wins in FY2018.
Education in particular has been a significant contributor to growth for Nuago.
The managed services provider is the partner of choice for Trinity College and Westminster School, and has been tapped by Pedare Christian College to deliver a major public cloud hosting solution.
Government clients, meanwhile, include Land Services SA and the City of Unley, while corporate clients include tourism services provider Journey Beyond, the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute and Thomas Foods International.
Looking forward, O’Rourke said Nuago’s growth would ultimately be guided by their customers.
“One of the things that we tend to do when we win deals is ask clients why Nuago was selected. Typically the feedback is that we offer a strategic business perspective and understand where our clients want to go from a growth perspective. We align ourselves to our customers with the appropriate technology to enable them on their journey.”
