WA's Department of Communities tenders for backup solution

The Western Australian government’s Department of Communities (DoC) has tendered for a backup solution to safeguard its critical data, ensure business continuity and meet operational and regulatory requirements.

In implementing the solution, DoC seeks to consolidate existing services under a single managed environment; adopt a flexible and scalable approach to licensing; and provision a consolidated dashboard of the service operations.

The backup system is required to support individual workstations; servers (physical and virtual); databases (Microsoft SQL, Oracle); email servers (Microsoft Exchange, etc); Microsoft M365 Cloud Services; Microsoft M365; Exchange Online; Azure; on-premises; and Salesforce 120 instances.

The department currently uses Veeam, Avepoint and Azure Backup as backup systems.

Respondents should provide a transition-in plan and a transition-out plan inclusive of approach, costings, project schedule, training, assumptions and expectations of the Department.

The tender closes 28 November 2025 at 2:30PM WA time.
