American recruitment software company Greenhouse has opened Australian operations with a $2 million investment to establish a local presence and expand its workforce.
The New York-based firm will open a Sydney office and appoint senior staff including a country manager to support its existing Australian customer base of which it said comprises more than 200 companies.
Greenhouse provides recruitment software that manages hiring processes including candidate sourcing, interviewing and analytics for small and large businesses.
The company plans to establish a local data centre to improve service performance for Australian users and will double its Australia-based headcount as part of the expansion.
"Australia currently accounts for a third of our APAC business, and this new investment signifies our commitment to helping our local customers achieve their business goals using our platform," Daniel Chait, Greenhouse chief executive, said.
Australian clients include online retailer The Iconic and gaming company VGW, with the company also partnering with local firms including reference checking service Xref.
The expansion follows Greenhouse's recent launch of Real Talent, a fraud detection system designed to identify fake applications and candidates during recruitment processes, which will be available to Australian customers later this year.
The Sydney office establishment represents Greenhouse's first physical presence in Australia after a decade of serving the market remotely from the United States.
