TPG teams with Cisco, Microsoft on office tech fit-outs

TPG Telecom has teamed up with Cisco and Microsoft to deliver technology fit-outs for its office sites around Australia.

The fit-outs will include hardware and software to increase collaboration and support for TPG's hybrid workforce, the company said.

TPG's Sydney headquarters in Barangaroo has been equipped with 40 Cisco EQ and Room Bar systems running native Microsoft Teams.

Cisco EQ and Room Bar systems have also been installed at the telco’s Melbourne site to deliver connectivity for its workforce.

“Creating this partnership with Cisco and Microsoft is a crucial part of TPG Telecom’s digital transformation journey, and sets a new standard for our employee experience,” said TPG's head of IT workplace, Mark Samuel.

“Combining two world-leading software and hardware environments from Cisco and Microsoft ensures our people have the right technology environment to be their best, boost productivity, and innovate, whether they are in the office or working remotely.”

“All of this tech has been underpinned by TPG Telecom’s secure, scalable and fully redundant networks, so our people are always able to work how they want, when they want.”

TPG's meeting rooms at its Barangaroo and Melbourne offices have been fitted out with Cisco room systems that feature hi-def cameras and microphones, noise removal capabilities and digital navigator panels.

These systems are running the Microsoft Teams Rooms solution, which works alongside the Microsoft applications TPG's employees use such as Word, Outlook and Teams

“The ability for people to pick things up intuitively is our gauge for success. It's about the employee experience, it's making it as seamless and intuitive as possible for them,” said Cisco distinguished architect, Vanessa Sulikowski.

“What's great about this solution is that we’re seeing the use of Cisco technology and Microsoft technology coming together in a customer centric way."

TPG is also trialing Copilot for Microsoft 365 with an initial employee cohort.

“Bringing virtual and physical spaces together to create seamless collaboration experiences for employees is a critical part of enabling a modern workplace, and it’s great to see TPG bring that in from the ground up in their new offices," said Lucy Debono, director of modern work at Microsoft Australia and New Zealand.

“We are excited to see the impact that bringing Cisco hardware and Microsoft software together can enable for our joint customers across Australia.”
