Telepresence solutions are "eco-friendly"
Polycom claims its Polycom Telepresence Experience (TPX) series make people feel like they are sitting across the table from co-workers when they interact through its high definition video, audio, and content-sharing in different locations.

The three solutions are; TPX 306M, TPX204M AND TPX102M. The first has three screens for medium and large environments for up to six people, the second is a two-screen solution for small and medium conferences for up to four people in remote locations, and the third has a single-screen for small meetings and offices for up to two people.

“Telepresence is radically changing the face of business by removing distance as a barrier,” said Michael Chetner, country manager for Polycom Australia and New Zealand.

“Our solutions are delivering bottom-line benefits today by helping customers reduce costs, shorten sales cycles, improve customer retention, and lower carbon emissions by providing an effective travel alternative,” Chetner added.

Senior vice president and general manager of visual communications solutions at Polycom, Joe Sigrist, agrees.

He claims the global business environment will dramatically evolve over the next five to 10 years.

He said visual communication capabilities like telepresence, real-time multimedia content sharing, on-demand video content, mobile video and video-enabled unified communications have the potential to change what is possible in business and radically alter how, where and when we work, and the way we communicate and collaborate with co-workers, partners and customers.

In addition to TPX, the Polycom telepresence portfolio includes the Polycom RealPresence Experience series (RPX), a room-within-a-room which supports up to 28 people on camera in each location and the HDX flexible room telepresence solutions.
