SMBiT Professionals has made four key appointments as the industry organisation shifts focus to attracting a broader TSP market, from one-person operators to larger businesses of 30+ people.
The growth goals also include an almost doubling in size for SMBiT Professionals, as well as "significant expansion" in company membership.
As a result, Vivien Dehamer will take over as executive officer, responsible for the delivery of the flagship annual conference and the growth of sponsorship opportunities across both conference and chapter meetings.
She will also lead internal systems and governance processes, whilst also being the Company Secretary.
Michael Crocombe has been named membership officer, focused on cultivating the membership base and ensuring strong engagement across all chapters nationwide. His remit includes member recruitment, retention, and extending the organisations regional presence.
Wayne Small has transitioned from CEO to the role of technology evangelist, tasked with building relationships with external organisations, vendors, government, and other industry bodies.
Small is the lead of the SMB1001 steering committee which will deliver the association’s advocacy and visibility.
Michael Priest has been named data management lead and will oversee CRM management, hosted systems, business intelligence, and member collaboration platforms.
“We have worked incredibly hard to deliver value to our members and champion change for our industry. This next phase is about having the right goals, structure and strategy to support us achieving these new milestones,” said Scott Atkinson, board chair, SMBiT Professionals.
“Together these four roles represent a major investment in our capacity to deliver sustainable, meaningful growth for our members and industry as a whole,” said Mitch Colton, board vice-chair, SMBiT Professionals.
In addition, the board structure has also changed.
Atkinson will be the lead director for the Risk, Governance and the Finance Sub-Committee, while Colton will be moving into a vice-chair role focused on growth initiatives and strategies for expanding the association’s impact.
Jessica Leong will lead the Sponsorship Sub-Committee; Kayla Ellice will lead the Marketing Sub-Committee; Aaron Jervis will lead the Technology Sub-Committee; and Clint Simonsen and David Perkovic will both lead the Membership Sub-Committee. All are non-executive directors.
