Under the agreement, BOAUG will become part of the SAUG with a sub-group to cater for the needs of current Business Objects users.
“We are really pleased to have Business Objects customers join SAUG. Pooling our resources together increases our reach and influence, and immeasurably strengthens the knowledge sharing pool,” said Ally Thorne, chairperson of SAUG.
The Business Objects Advisory Board (BOAB) will support the new members and represent BOAUG.
BOAB will be made up of its existing state committee members, headed by Jenni Lewis, previously National President for the BOAUG.
All current members of BOAUG will be invited to join SAUG under a subsidised membership scheme that will merge with the standard membership as of July 2009.
This will come into effect this month. It follows the acquisition of Business Objects by SAP in early 2008.
“By joining forces with SAUG we are able to offer a greater pool of information to our current members, increase the size of the group and create a larger influence base within the SAP ecosystem,” said Lewis.
“Programmes will be developed over the next six to12 months that will have a specific Business Objects focus.
“We will be adding new resources including webcasts, forums and events to incorporate a wider range of topics,” she added.
SAUG is a ‘not for profit’ member organisation that brings together individuals and companies within the SAP community to share knowledge, network amongst peers, influence the direction of SAP solutions and provide ongoing education for all members.
