Print Audit version 6 focuses on cutting costs, reducing environmental impact and document security and regulatory compliance.
"Our customers' needs change and evolve over time, and Print Audit 6 reflects those changing and progressing requirements," said John MacInnes, president and CEO of Print Audit.
"Our customers spoke to us about the tough world economy, with their need for greater document security, and their concern for the environment."
The program uses an advanced rules engine to set instructions for a virtually unlimited number of print jobs, claimed the vendor.
Document security measures include the ability to prevent confidential or sensitive documents from being printed, or to notify specific users by email when documents with certain titles have been printed.
Print Audit 6 can encourage or force people to print duplex, send larger print jobs to more economical and environmentally friendly devices or to not print at all.
These rules could reduce the number of abandoned print and copy jobs, claimed the vendor.
In related news, Peter Williamson has joined Print Audit Australasia as national programs manager.
Williamson has a strong track record in the office equipment industry, having worked in divisions and distribution channels for Fuji Xerox and Ricoh over nearly 30 years.
Williamson will be responsible for training resellers in Print Audit's managed print services program.
"We are very fortunate to have someone with Peter's experience and contacts in the industry working with us," said Barry Mortimer, director of Print Audit Australasia.
"He is going to be of great value to our channel partners in the managed print space."
