Scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2008, MOKO on Optus will be a version of Loop’s mobile chat and social networking platform to date and will introduce major new initiatives such as MOKO Music.
The MOKO Optus service will feature services for users to connect instantly across Australia and around the world, based on a range of shared interests. MOKO also includes instant chat, personal profiles, building a friends list, as well as uploading and sharing photos and videos.
MOKO Music connects artists with their fans within a mobile community environment, including streaming music, video and audio. Artists can also host live chat sessions with their fans, all via the mobile device. It will focus on amateur and unsigned bands as well as the major labels.
Martin Hoffman, Loop’s CEO and managing director said the full integration of the MOKO community and MOKO Music on Optus, will provide the mobile community with a networking experience.
“The MOKO community on Optus Zoo is a monthly subscription based service with day pass use also available,” he said.
The Optus contract comes just over a month since the successful launch of MOKO on Virgin.
