ASX-listed cybersecurity vendor Excite Technology Services has won a $676,000 contract with the Department of Home Affairs.

The contract is via Excite's subsidiary CBIT and involves a software solution to enhance Home Affairs' national digital forensics and investigative capabilities.

The contract term is for one year, and the company said it can be renewed for a further two periods.

"This engagement highlights Excite’s ongoing commitment to supporting government and enterprise clients with secure, high-performance technologies and locally delivered services tailored to critical operational needs," the company said in a statement.

In May this year, Excite secured $2.8 million in new funding from investors.

The company said the funds will be directed towards organic growth initiatives, including strategic investments in their digital forensics training capabilities and offensive security services.
