Dimension Data Australia has sold its education arm to the Australian College of Training and Employment (ACTE) Group for an undisclosed sum.
Dimension Data Learning Solutions (DDLS) has its own vendor management team and was recently recognised with a learning award at the 2016 Microsoft Worldwide Partner of the Year awards.
A Dimension Data spokesperson told CRN the business was sold so the company could focus solely on business and technology consulting services and that DDLS was a strong business in its own right.
"The breadth and quality of these services differentiate us in the market and we want to use that expertise to drive our expansion into newer areas such as managed services and digital transformation," the spokesperson said.
Dimension Data said it would continue to partner with ACTE Group. "Most of our projects involve a level of training and where relevant we will work with ACTE and DDLS on those opportunities."
ACTE Group chief executive Craig White said DDLS' market leadership in Australia made it an attractive purchase.
Queensland-headquartered ACTE is an education provider established in 2006. The organisations' brands, which are present across five states with a total of 27 campuses, are the Academy for Tourism and Hospitality, Art Intelligence, Australian Institute of ICT, Evocca College, Nuvocca Beauty, The Change Academy and Study Choices Australia.
DDLS has operated for 25 years and provides services including vendor-certified technical training and best-practice process training and certification. DDLS chief executive Mal Shaw will continue in the role.
DDLS has 45 equipped classrooms and seven office locations in Australia.
