Mobile advertising firm LeadBolt was founded in 2010 by Dale Carr to help mobile app developers and marketers succeed in ‘the free app economy’. It aims to develop better web advertising for smaller screen. It employs 50 “mobile tech fanatics” at its Sydney headquarters and its Los Angeles office.
How’s business?
Today, LeadBolt serves 5 billion mobile ads a month, across 65,000 apps in 150 countries. We recently announced 50 new job openings.
How do you go to market?
The LeadBolt network is comprised of mobile app developer members who integrate LeadBolt’s ad-serving technology into their apps. It’s this technology that enables their apps to serve innovative forms of in-app advertising, thus monetising the app. Developers and advertisers are matched based on their respective ability and desire to reach mobile audiences.
What are some of your partner programs?
LeadBolt created a strong referral program that rewards developer and advertiser members for their advocacy as well as new members brought in.

We offer a fixed percentage to the ‘referrer’ based on the revenue generated by the new client (ie through the referral) so whatever amount of money is generated in advertising, whether by an app developer or even a third-party referral, the same fixed percent of the revenue is paid out. The more referrals you get, the more revenue is generated, the more money you receive.
