Olikka and Citrix worked together to streamline Porter Davis's six offices into one and reduce costs by 40 percent.
The transformation required a system that connected every employee from reception to management, as well as empowering 500 employees to work remotely from different mobile devices and safely access corporate data.
One of the main challenges was to reduce the use of paper as it caused delays, unnecessary costs and time. Porter Davis group IT manager Warren Arbaitman said the building company has already reduced these costs by 40 percent after the change, which started in November 2015.
To make sure the activity-based-working environment would work Porter Davis gave each of the employee a laptop and an iPhone to make sure all had wi-fi and 4G access at any time.
"Through the Citrix technology deployed, we have been able to boost employee productivity and retention – both areas at risk if our relocation was not a success. Similarly, in addition to reducing overheads our paperless strategy has improved reporting processes, as well as simplified and accelerated the sharing of information internally and externally," said Arbaitman.
Olikka, a systems integrator, cloud solution and infrastructure solutions provider from Melbourne, helped Porter Davis to migrate XenApp from version 6.5 to 7.6.
Arbaitman said Olikka's involvement was important as the integrator knows Citrix solutions well. He also said that with the transformation the building company became very demanding and software driven and Olikka was able to respond to their requests.
Olikka managing director Michael Pascoe said: "Porter Davis' ability to use Skype for Business within XenApp was instrumental in enabling full mobility within the existing environment".
As part of the project Olikka will be responsible for managing all the Citrix solutions in place for 12 months, initially.
Porter Davis also has in place XenDesktop, ShareFile and RightSignature. Continuing to work with Citrix solutions made the transition faster as all PCs were up to date, employees had access to files on the go and contracts were being signed faster without the risk of documents being lost and with the capacity to track them.
