Sydney MSSP Loop Secure says SOC revamp helped boost growth

Sydney-based cybersecurity services provider Loop Secure's relaunched Security Operations Centre (SOC) has paid off.

The company said outsourced SOC services grew 210 percent over the past year, bringing in more customers across its services suite, particularly in managed detection and response (MDR) services.

Loop Secure upgraded its SOC in April 2016, expanding its offerings to include detecting and responding to threats, data protection as well as vulnerability management and adversary simulation.

The SOC is located in the company’s Melbourne office, with Kelly Clapham at the helm.

“We’ve been delivering a range of cybersecurity services for three decades now,” Clapham said in a press release. “But the decision to double down and revamp our SOC in 2016 has seen it grow exponentially in terms of customers, headcount and solutions delivered.”

Loop Secure chief executive Patrick Butler said customers appreciate being able to put faces to names and build relationships with the company’s SOC analysts. “They really see us as an extension of their team,” he said.

Butler said Loop Secure plans to add more services like attack simulation and management of Azure, AWS and Google Cloud in-built security controls, as well as expand its presence in SMBs across the private and public sector, finance, manufacturing, transport, health, mining and non-profits.

“The SOC and our [Managed Security Service Provider] offering bring together different technologies that are traditionally very expensive, hard to integrate and even harder to resource for an internal function,” Butler said.

Loop Secure offers managed security services; offensive security services and penetration testing; cybersecurity consulting; and a range of security controls. It has offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

The company lists 25 vendor partners on its website, including Citrix, Splunk, Cisco, Aruba, RSA, Crowdstrike, McAfee and more.
