Rebranded reseller Aliva expects $10m sales surge

Brisbane-based system integrator Aliva expects a $10-15 million rise in sales following a major public sector contract, and has hired two new senior managers and undergone a company rebrand as a result.

Aliva – formerly known as TLC IT Solutions – was appointed as one of the Queensland state government's six panellists to supply computer hardware and maintenance.

It is the result of more than 18 months of work, said general manager Maree Adshead, who told CRN she was hired at that time "with a brief to basically transform the business".

"By their own admission, they're a business that needed to refocus their go-to market model and get more engaged with their customers."

Also hired to manage Aliva’s sales nine months ago was Nathan Wood, who has experience working at Copnet Business and Technology and SCentral.

Adshead described the impact of the government deal as "significant", but declined to provide the value of the contract.

The company generated sales of $23 million for FY2011, according to its placement in the 2011 CRN Fast50. Adshead would not disclose Aliva's current financials, but said sales dipped slightly in FY2013 "due to the constrained market conditions in Queensland".

The contract with the state government, which was signed on 1 May 2013, will go for three years and has the option of being renewed annually for an additional two years.

"Within the next 12-month period, we are anticipating to see our existing revenue figures lift by $10-$15 million and result in increased employment of around five to seven additional team members to manage this contract."
