AI-based cybersecurity exchange WhiteHawk has entered a joint venture with Novera to jointly fast-track the development and commercialisation of a cybersecurity risk assessment and governance platform tailored for the Australian market.
WhiteHawk aims to enable businesses and organisations to take action to prevent cybercrime, fraud and disruption and mitigate the impacts continuously, with automated and scalable cyber risk assessments, SaaS, and Platform as a Service (“PaaS”) product lines.
Novera, an Australian digital risk management advisory firm, was founded by Tony Vizza earlier this year and offers a suite of services including AI risk assessments developing and implementing cybersecurity strategies and conducting risk and maturity assessments.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding, WhiteHawk and Novera will co-develop an integrated cybersecurity and governance platform optimised for Australian organisations and government agencies; launch a joint offering addressing the intersection of cyber risk, data protection, and AI governance; and establish a Joint Venture to further develop, commercialise and manage the IP created under the collaboration.
Following the Australian launch, the parties will evaluate opportunities to localise the platform for other jurisdictions.
WhiteHawk has also established a dedicated APEC sales and delivery office based out of Perth.
Vizza said as organisations accelerate AI adoption, the need for secure, compliant, and transparent data frameworks and governance has never been greater and will continue to evolve.
"This partnership unites Novera’s knowledge of Australian governance and regulatory environments with WhiteHawk’s advanced cyber risk technologies to create a foundation for trusted AI and data sovereignty," he said.
Giuseppe Porcelli, executive director and head of strategy at WhiteHawk, said since May 2025, the company has been aligning its capabilities with Novera’s next-generation governance and regulatory expertise while establishing a full-time APEC presence in Australia.
"Partnering with Novera allows us to embed Australian regulatory expectations directly into an integrated platform that unifies cyber risk, AI governance and data sovereignty," he said.
"Together, we are building a solution tailored for Australia, deployable across the APEC region and scalable globally — setting a new standard for how cybersecurity, AI ethics and sovereign data frameworks work together to protect organisations and nations.”
