Here at PC Authority, we're well used to getting dry, boring press releases in our respective inboxes. Being online, we're also well used to getting offers of pictures of ladies in various states of undress, at least those that get past the spam filter.
ASUS obviously must be thinking that there's a gap in the market, as it's chosen to combine the two in a new viral marketing campaign for the Eee PC, titled "Bunny Girl".
And without even clicking on a link, yes, it's of the type that might interest Hugh Hefner, or at least Playboy's legal department, depending on which trademarks they hold.
There is of course a potential problem with having half-naked ladies in your advertising campaign (apart from the whole "get fired at work for watching it" problem), namely that around half your audience may not be interested (and or annoyed/offended) by it.
We asked Asus representatives if there were any plans for a complimentary "Bunny Boy", but were told that it's a Bunny Girl world, at least for the time being.
You can watch the Bunny Girl Viral Ad here. Discretion at some workplaces might be advisable, though there's no nudity.
