Latrobe City Council replaced its legacy records management software through a new deal with Avand.
The contract for the council based in southeast Victoria, is valued at $250,000 for the first year, with additional implementations and maintenance revenues to follow.
Avand will use its DataWorks enterprise content management software to replace Latrobe’s legacy records management system to help the council become compliant with Public Records of Victoria (PROV).
Karla Leed, Latrobe City Council's Electronic Document and Records Management System project manager, said the council went through a six-month process to identify a suitable product for its needs.
"We had two primary objectives: to comply with State legislation for document management, and to build a central repository of shared information," she said.
DataWorks will replace RecFind as the Council's primary document management system, and will integrate with its workflow system, Pathway.
Latrobe will also replace its meeting management application, T2000, with Avand's Minutes Manager module for DataWorks later in the year.
The ‘go-live’ date will be June 2006, with training to be completed by September for around 800 staff across Latrobe's three main offices and 30 remote depots.
