HCL opens Canberra office
Indian IT services firm HCL Technologies plans to continue its investment and expansion in A/NZ with the opening of its local subsidiary’s newest office in Canberra.

The Canberra office will augment 600 plus staff of HCL Australia Services and HCL (New Zealand), both wholly owned subsidiaries of HCL, to support customers across Australia and New Zealand, and will join its network of offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Auckland and Wellington.

Somnath Mallick, president of HCL Asia Pacific, said the government sector is an expanding and important part of its business in Asia Pacific region, with the firm witnessing over 80 percent growth year on year in ANZ.

“Based on our experience in other markets in the Asia Pacific, we expect the growth from the government sector to contribute to our overall market position, supporting our leadership in the government, banking and finance, retail and consumer goods, telecommunications, media and entertainment, manufacturing, life sciences and utilities sectors.”

HCL is also recruiting a number of business and finance graduates and post-graduates (MBA) in Australia and New Zealand. These graduates will receive training at the company’s headquarters in India and work in-house with HCL’s customers in the finance, business and government sectors in ANZ.
