The information management and technology division of the Department of Education Victoria (DE) has put out a request for tender for a School Software Panel, with an initial focus on student administration software solutions.
The aim is to provide Victorian government K-12 schools with a carefully curated selection of pre-approved software providers, aiming to streamline the procurement process and making it easier to access trusted software solutions while ensuring full compliance with Victorian regulations on Child Safety, Cyber Security, and relevant policies.
Schools will be required to exclusively use panel suppliers for school administrative software.
This initiative is designed to support schools in managing essential administrative functions, such as student records, attendance tracking, reporting, and data management.
The products and services making up the panel include financial and insurance services; information technology broadcasting and telecommunications; information technology service delivery; information services; management and business professionals and administrative services; public administration and finance services; software; telecommunications media services; education and training services; and finance accounting and enterprise resource planning ERP software.
The Department invites tenderers to submit proposals, via an Invitation to Supply (ITS), for one or more categories of services. Tenderers can propose solutions within a single service area or across multiple categories, depending on their expertise and capacity.
A strong emphasis will be placed on open communication, flexibility, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, ensuring that solutions continue to meet the evolving needs of schools.
The School Software Panel aligns with the Department’s 10-Year Digital Horizon (10YDH) strategic vision, a digital strategy that the DE says is crucial for addressing the needs of Victoria’s expanding population and the evolving education landscape.
The Department is committing to modern technology and digital infrastructure to enhance teaching and learning, providing improved tools and resources for students and educators.
These advancements also optimise school operations, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently, and support services are delivered effectively.
With more than 1,570 schools and over one million students across Victoria, the Department is one of Australia’s largest education providers.
Supporting this system is a workforce of more than 80,000 staff, including teachers, school leaders, administrators, and corporate professionals.
