Those crazy Ruskies at Kapersky have warned that August is the month for virus attacks.
That’s PC viruses not the viruses you get when the dude next to you on the train sneezes all over you. Just why August should be a boomer month for viruses remains a mystery, since it’s only winter down under.
In the other half of the planet August is summer and in Europe most countries close down while their citizens enjoy their annual vacation.
Perhaps that’s the clue we should be looking at – an entire month with bored nerds staring at their PCs wondering how to break them.
Working on the million-monkeys paradigm we shouldn’t be surprised when one of them spots an opening wide enough to squeeze a virus through.
The best defence is offence, so what’s needed is funding from the USA to fly the entire contingent of vacationing geeks to Orlando for a spot of Disneyworld-driven therapy.
Let’s see them trying to code a new virus while riding the roller coaster. Rumours claiming this is how Windows was developed in the first place remain unsubstantiated.
