When Vista finally arrives, will it spell the end of the Tablet PC? Until now you've had to order a special Tablet PC-sytle laptop if you needed the functionality, which not too many did, or work with a clunky add-on tablet to your desktop PC.
That's all about to change, as every Windows Vista except the very basic version, ships with intimate knowledge of how to make use of a tablet. All you need to do is plug a tablet into your PC. That is, as long as the tablet comes from Wacom or uses their drivers, because that's the code emebedded into Vista.
Folks who use tablets, and unsruprisingly, those who sell them, love to sing the praises of their mouse-free environment. With the arrival of Vista machines, already prepared to take their tablets, we could be looking at a very lucrative up-sell in the New Year.
Are you ready to take your tablets?
