Gotta be happy about Microsoft having to patch their most recent patch before the code had even dried. At least this time the Redmondites ‘fessed up before Rabid rebuilt his PC one more time.
That’s how we spent our Christmas hols before someone let slip that the October security update was the cause of IE taking approximately a week to do anything at all really.
This time around Microsoft is pointing the finger at Hewlett Packard, and Rabid is pointing both fingers at the crumbling print drivers he was forced to download after the last Windows XP rebuild.
Of course, the original CD form HP can’t be used with the latest XP, so off you go to the HP website to download the latest driver.
Hey, this isn’t too techie even for Rabid, but do you think HP would have the driver for his particular all-in-one device available? No sir.
You have to download a combined monster file of 166MB! Did HP setup a partnership with ISPs that nobody heard about? Why else do they want to choke the broadband with that much drivel when all that’s needed is a tiny printer driver?
And the thing is broken anyway, if Microsoft is to be believed, and the regular PC crashes at Rabid HQ claiming to be caused by a “driver fault” have Rabid cheering for Bill’s team.
At least when IE was broken we could swap over to Firefox until it got fixed. How are we supposed to print until this one gets fixed? Well, we can still print, it’s just sooooo boring when Outchook or Orifice crashes yet again screaming “The driver! The driver!” as they plunge wheels-up onto the tarmac.
If this is flying I’ll go by penguin.
