Greenpeace has come out with a list of the best (and worst) recycling vendors in the computer industry and Nokia and Dell scored first place, with ultra-chic Apple missing out on a spot in the top ten.
So far, Rabid hasn’t seen any adverts designed to take advantage of these rankings, but are they inevitable?
When the prices have reached rock bottom, and punters have stopped believing it matters what’s inside, will the enviro-angle be the next marketing tool?
Rabid sees this as a great opportunity for the first vendor brave enough to start shipping bright green PCs instead of bland beige or boring blue.
Acer had a go at red PCs a while back, in partnership with red car-maker Ferrari, but punters seemed uninterested.
However, a PC that scores high with Greenpeace, and has a coloured-case to match, might just be enough to sway guilty consumers.
I’m off to the hardware shop for some aerosol cans!
Go with green
