So chipmaker AMD is gaining ground on Intel and it's mostly because AMD's chips are cheaper.
Maybe Intel shouldn't have dropped its "Intel inside" campaign.
Rabid certainly had to contend with plenty of "does it have Intel inside?" queries while the campaign was running, and many punters preferred to pay the premium so they could say "as advertised on TV" when showing off their new PC to their mates.
These days the questions are usually "is that your absolute lowest rock bottom bargain basement guaranteed to beat the other guy price?" and the only way to answer that is by sticking an AMD CPU inside the box.
Do your customers still ask for Intel or do they just want the best price?
