Unisys West was created in 2002 to offer IT services and solutions in Western Australia, including to BankWest.
The company will now be a wholly owned subsidiary of Unisys Australia and market its products and services under the ‘Unisys’ brand.
Customer arrangements will not be impacted by the ownership change, the companies said in a media statement.
“Unisys will continue to operate and serve clients in Western Australia in the same manner as it does in other states, leveraging Unisys high quality delivery services using resources from within the state, Australia and internationally,” said Tony Henshaw, VP of outsourcing and infrastructure services at Unisys Asia Pacific.
“This includes our work for the Western Australian Department of Child Protection, the Australian Department of Defence and Australia Post.”
Unisys will also continue to provide a number of other services and solutions to BankWest including hardware maintenance services, application software and maintenance support, and business process outsourcing for cheque processing.
In 2007, BankWest transitioned some IT services that had been outsourced to the joint venture back in-house.
