The event held at The Harp Irish Pub in Tempe included performances by
Oldplay, Jef Leopard, which features IT personnel Emma Broadbent (vocals,Symantec), Harris Loefti (drums, Symantec), Anthony Miller (keyboards, Cisco Systems), Des Seeto (guitar, previously Cisco but now Citrix) and Jeff Sheard (guitar, ex-Cisco, now a consultant).
Also, the Boxer Rebels, Lee’s part-time band featuring Lee (vocals, keyboards, harmonica), Les Gock (guitar, from 70s Aussie band Hush), Chris Pailthorpe ( drums, also ex-Hush) and Neil Smith (bass, ex AC/DC and Rose Tatoo)
“Around 100 people attended and along with a raffle raised about $1,700 after expenses,” said Lee, who is a response specialist for Cisco.
“Express Data is matching all employee contributions and this should amount to around $2,000. The total raised so far is almost $8,000.”
Lee is taking part in the Oxfam Challenge, a cycling adventure across rural China.
The challenge starts in Yunnan, in the south-west and highlights include Tiger Leaping Gorge, the Yangtze, ancient towns and villages, such as World Heritage listed Lijiang and the lakeside town of Dali.
